How can I help you?
People seek counseling for lots of reasons. Whatever brought you here, I applaud your decision to find resources and seek help. Whether you're just looking for some outside perspective or find yourself in the middle of a crisis, my goal is to help you. How does that happen?
Most challenges are easier with someone to walk through them with us. Joining with you in your journey allows me to support and encourage you, offer insight, and reflect with you. Our sessions are very conversational, but I listen a lot more than I talk. Together, we explore, uncover and shed light on what we can. But more than anything I will help you know — and love — yourself better. My approach is informed by IFS, which is a way of knowing and loving all parts of ourselves.
It can be uncomfortable to meet someone new and begin to open up. I've been there! Our sessions are free of judgment, accepting and open. I'm soft-spoken, but will be honest with you.
Many of my clients come in with feelings of desperation, depression, stress and fear. They may feel trapped, hopeless, overwhelmed, lost or confused. Very early in our process, they realize they are not alone. Someone understands them, and they have hope. This is the kind of help I strive to provide.
What clients say…
““I have been in practice with Sandra for a year and I could not speak more highly of her. At first, I was nervous about opening up old wounds, to someone I didn’t know I was safe or comfortable around yet (especially as a gay woman I feared working on trauma with someone who has prejudice could be damaging). But I have never once felt uncomfortable or disrespected; if anything, the opposite.
I believe Sandra could be a great fit for many kinds of people due to her healthy attitude, open mind, and personal yet professional demeanor. More specifically I recommend her to someone wanting to lean into understanding familial relationship dynamics/childhood trauma and how that effects you presently and heal that pain.
Through my time with Sandra I have begun healing aspects of myself that I wasn’t even aware needed healing that have made my daily life lighter and more effortless. She is always comforting and gentle when guiding me to those places but maintains a respectful amount of directness that makes this work more effective and clear.
Overall, I have watched myself transform and rapidly grow over the past year due to my participation in therapy with Sandra. Anyone willing to do that self work will find so much relief and self improvement with her guidance.” ”
““I have been consulting/working with Sandra for 9+ years. Through conversations, writing, and lot of reading she has helped me unravel many issues, past and present. I have, and do, appreciate her caring, her perspective, and, perhaps, most of all, her sense of humor (especially regarding my drawing abilities - or lack thereof!). I have learned much about my inner-being — and that is ‘good enough’ for me. Thank you!””
